Verse 1 :
From judges' chaos , a prophet arose , and once again to Israel hope will expose.
Hannah, his mother , though barren her womb , with faith and trust God's grace brought her a son.
Verse 2 :
A son to lead {his people with wins} , but Israel sins {and loses the Ark}
They trembled , as plagues swept the land , and returned the Ark , fulfilling God's plan.
Chorus 1-1st :
{From Samuel to Saul, and then to David’s fall},
The rise of kingdoms and the pride in all.
{God opposes the proud , exalts the low},
In the hands of the humble , His kingdom grows.
Verse 3 :
But pride is in, their hearts and now , they ask for a king , {like other nations},"
Although God is , the best King , {he gave them one} , and Saul is his name.
Verse 4 :
Tall and strong yet his {heart was weak} , and his reign has reached {to it's peak}.
Because of darkness his kingdom strifes making space for David renamed by God.
Chorus 2-1st :
{He opposes the proud , but the humble He lifts high},
Through the trials and the storms , He will hear our cry.
{With Samuel , Saul, and David , a story intertwined},
But The Most High is The King , that's the bottom line.
Verse 5 :
From a shepherd , God has made a king , with faith and courage , David faced the foes
Yet sin entered and broke his heart , and the consequences the cost of life.
Verse 6 :
His kingdom to Solomon who had {build a temple} , through the idols was denied by God.
Israel split , two kingdoms in pain , Prophets cried out , but sin still reigned.
Chorus 3-1st :
{Elijah’s fire , Elisha’s might} , Kings who wandered from the covenant light.
{Exile loomed by Assyria’s blow} , but Judah's fall , was the final woe.
